Blue Water Concepts - Sprout Lake Passive House

Hayden was involved in the framing and building envelope for this Passive House project, joining the site as the foundation was poured and later stepping into the Lead Hand role. Working closely with a building science consultant, the team delivered a highly detailed, high-performance home that exceeded efficiency expectations and continues to inform our approach to building today.

Builder: Blue Water Concepts
This Passive House project at Sproat Lake was an early and formative build for our team. Hayden joined the project as the thickened-edge slab foundation was being poured and was involved throughout the full framing and building envelope scope, with interior finishing completed by others.
Starting as a second on the framing crew, Hayden quickly stepped into the role of Lead Hand, helping guide the execution of a highly detailed Passive House structure. The project required an elevated level of precision and coordination, with attention to detail beginning well before forms were even staked.
Working closely with an experienced building science consultant was a key part of the process. Their deep knowledge and willingness to share insights helped reshape how we approached framing, air sealing, and envelope performance. Many of the lessons learned on this build continue to inform our work today.
The result was a home that exceeded performance expectations—exceptionally efficient, comfortable, and well-loved by its owners.
