Blue Water Concepts - Sprout Lake Passive House
Hayden was involved in the framing and building envelope for this Passive House project, joining the site as the foundation was poured and later stepping into the Lead Hand role. Working closely with a building science consultant, the team delivered a highly detailed, high-performance home that exceeded efficiency expectations and continues to inform our approach to building today.

Blue Water Concepts - The Hardy Island Project
Hayden led construction management for the Hardy Island house, overseeing a large crew, tight timelines, and the complex logistics of a remote build. The project demonstrates his ability to manage large scopes of work while maintaining quality, efficiency, and strong on-site leadership.

Makayev Road - Brilliant Shop
A client-designed woodworking shop coordinated from permitting through construction. Black Fir provided project management, structural carpentry, and exterior work, working closely with the Regional District and engineer to refine the design. The project includes an ICF foundation with

Shed Bar
Designed and built in 2017 during Hayden’s first year of apprenticeship, this all-cedar shed bar doubles as a summer entertaining space and a winter storage shed. A small-footprint project that reflects creative design, trust-driven collaboration, and enduring client relationships.

Backyard Studio
This guest cabin / studio was designed and built from the ground up as a space for guests to sleep, plus it also functions as a home office space. The design includes shou sugi bon posts, beams, rafters, deck and fascia and required no permit based on the footprint size.

Garage Door Reno
This garage renovation involved reframing curved door openings into clean, square profiles to improve the home’s resale appeal. Completed in just a few days, the project delivered a cost-effective, efficient upgrade that added value and left the client very satisfied with the result.
